Thursday, May 15th, My day was definitely meant for bad but the Lord allowed me to see only good in it. I was able to realize all my blessings in the face of pure chaos. That same evening my heart was overflowing with tears of joy. I really believe that being a mother is the hardest job in the world. It’s unpaid labor, we get no-accolades from co-workers, there is no rhyme or reason on some days. Yet, I feel it is the most important job a woman can have. As a mother, you get to grow in a way that nothing else can do for you. You get lessons in how to give of oneself without expecting something in return, you learn to be a master teacher, you learn to multi-task, you learn how to sing traditional songs in a way that makes it all brand new, you learn patience on a whole new level, you learn how to persist in the face of adversity & failure, you learn how to communicate on various levels, your weakness are quickly revealed and you then have an opportunity to grow. I can rattle on hundreds of ways that children make a woman a better, stronger being but if you are reading this and you are a mother…you already know what I mean. If the miracle of giving life is nothing something you have experienced yet; you can still begin to connect with other children in your life by babysitting for friends & family members, mentoring to children in Orphanages or Community living homes, serving in the children’s ministry at church, and if the desire to make a huge impact is on your heart, pray about adoption.
A community approach to mothering is a great way to raise generations of leaders. Being a mother isn’t just a nice thing to try to make a check mark on your list but it is a life-long responsibility to cultivate character, morals, standards and leadership skills into the lives of little ones who will build or destroy our nation. What role are you playing in preparing your child for success. Not just financial success but success in character, in spirit life, in serving others, in giving, in health, and in relationships.
If your child is ‘getting in the way’, ‘hindering your pursuits’ or ‘tying you down’…this is a wakeup call to let you know you are losing perspective, self motivated & pursuing the wrong things.
Ask me why I can say this?

Freedom is a great notion but without balance and purpose, a person will self-destruct.
When we chase money, we run away from God!
